Walkabout Park protects the natural bush home of a mob of free-ranging friendly but wild kangaroos and their ground-dwelling and tree-living mammal friends, over 100 types of birds come and go such as the Superb Lyrebird, Laughing Kookaburra and Glossy Black Cockatoo, and more than 40 types of reptiles and frogs live in the rocks and ponds from the Diamond Python to the Eastern Froglet.
Plus most of Australia’s iconic animal species, from Koalas to Tasmanian Devils and Wombats – many rescued orphaned or injured, or part of ‘breed-for-release’ programs – are cared for by the rangers in various natural camps.
If you love the bush and animals roaming free, if you want to visit ancient Aboriginal sites and to learn about bush tucker and bush medicine, if you enjoy bush walking or you would rather relax at the visitor center with a great cup of coffee, if you plan to visit for a an hour or the whole day or you check in for an overnight experience, you’ll love Walkabout Park.
